BEST ANIMATION
Sister
Windy: Revisionist Art History Bob Mataranglo
Sister Windy is an animated parody of the BBC Series "Sister
Wendy". This intrepid nun travels the world searching
out great art to share with her friends and viewers. In a humorous,
tongue in check manner this video explores issues of nudity and
sexuality in Fine art, religion and politics. Art history as you
have never seen it before. |
WINNER!
BEST EXPERIMENTAL
Into
Something Rich & Strange Rich Ragsdale
A dark and troubling trip through a sideshow at the end of the world.
Assembled from snapshots, silver gelatin prints, polaroids, pinhole
photos, Muybridge motion studies, sequential xerography, archival
photos and computer generated textures to evoke a strange and distant
past.
|
WINNER!
BEST MUSIC VIDEO
Vic
Thrill: Wailing Wall Chris Cassidy
Loosely based on the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem, the song is a cathartic
scream of yearning to be free of all anxiety and inhibition. The
video itself was a pressure release for the people that made it,
not to let a lack of funds spoil their vision of doing something
on par with major commercial productions, while having a blast doing
it. |
WINNER!
BEST CONEY ISLAND FILM
Pinky
Ted Bourne
'Pinky' places an endearing incarnation of Fellini's Gelsomina into
a stop-motion animation. With only two dollars in her purse, our
pink-haired heroine's search for the right food takes her through
New York City to Coney Island, where the surprises begin. |
